A little about you, if you’re for us

You like challenges. You believe in our customers.  We use our national user conference, regional user groups and steering committees to get ESOers in front of our customers.  You enjoy getting first hand feedback from customers and knowing how your work impacts them directly.  You can’t make a difference at ESO if you don’t understand our customer.

The position

You’ll report to ESO’s Director of Contracts, whose mandate is to manage all phases of the customer contracting process, from calling up prospects and crafting compromises, to detailed legal review, to interfacing with accounting, engineering, sales and leadership, and everything in between.

More about what you’ll be doing

  • You will learn both the healthcare software business and advance your paralegal skillset.
  • You will help with all aspects of ESO’s customer contracts lifecycle process (for new customers, renewals and amendments), including review, negotiation, revision, record-keeping.
  • You will interface directly with our sales team to paper new transactions and guide them through contract issues.
  • You will interface directly with prospects or customers to create compromises for contract issues.
  • You will not be a potted plant: you will lean forward and learn the business—not just the contracts—because that is what you must do for us to accomplish our mission.
  • You will roll up your sleeves and get work done: we are a rapidly growing software-as-a-service company, and there are peaks in the workload which require late hours working with and without a team.

The stuff you must have to give us a resume 

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • 3 or more years of contract management experience, with a strong preference for software or SaaS company experience;
  • Nimble and self-sufficient with standard office technology (Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat);
  • Highly developed: (1) desire to learn—especially your craft and our business, (2) organization and analytical skills, (3) attention to detail, (4) work ethic, (5) initiative, (6) business process skills, and (7) problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to confidently guide conversations when speaking to potential customers;
  • Ability to quickly take what you’ve learned and apply it in new situations;
  • Ability to appropriately escalate and “bottom-line” atypical business or customer requests;
  • A good sense of humor;
  • You are passionate about what you do and want to know how your work impacts ESO’s success.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of HIPAA/HITECH and state privacy Laws;
  • Familiar with public procurement and/or contracting with large hospital systems;
  • Possess a sixth sense of what it takes to get a deal over the line;
  • Experience using Salesforce.com and other contract management tools.
